Lithuanian Gaming Authority updates Remote Gambling Agreement form

3 December 2025
(PRESS RELEASE) -- The Gaming Supervisory Authority (LPT) approved amendments to the Remote Gaming Agreement Form on 27 November. The grounds for termination of the agreement, which are repeated in other documents, have been removed from it. This eliminates morally outdated or irrelevant provisions.

The issues of terminating remote gambling contracts are essentially regulated by the Laws on Gambling and on the Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing. The grounds for terminating a remote gambling contract have also been established by gambling organizers in the regulations on the organization of gambling.

In addition, amendments to the Gambling Law regarding the organization of responsible gambling entered into force on 1 November 2025. Therefore, remote gambling contracts may be terminated with gamblers who show signs of problem gambling.

The grounds for termination in the remote gambling contract form essentially only repeated those specified in the above-mentioned regulation, and therefore should be considered redundant.

From now on, remote gambling contracts with gamblers can only be terminated in accordance with the above-mentioned legal provisions. Gambling operators, in accordance with their internal legal acts regulating changes in business relationships with gamblers, will have to sign amendments to existing remote gambling contracts with existing customers.

In order to ensure the protection of gamblers' rights, the LPT will continue to provide methodological assistance to gambling organizers and will develop guidelines for terminating gambling contracts.
